Here’s a quick guide to adjusting trolley on the garage door opener:
- Close the garage door.
- Find the emergency release cord (the red string that hangs from the trolley). Pull it to disengage the trolley from the opener carriage. This will allow the door to move along the track without the automated carriage. Now you can open and close the door manually.
- Try moving the garage door manually. Leave it closed.
- The spring position on the trolley depends on whether the trolley is engaged or disengaged. The spring is loose if disengaged. To reconnect the opener carriage, you need the spring compressed. Pull the emergency release cord from the door towards the opener to compress the spring.
- Now you can reconnect the trolley. There are two ways to do this:
- Move the garage door along the track to re-engage the attachment point.
- Activate the garage door opener remotely. The trolley will then connect automatically.
