Which is better, a chain or belt drive garage door opener?

Belt Drive Openers

Belt-driven openers are quieter than chain-driven ones. In terms of load, they will handle any single or double garage door perfectly. This type of opener, however, is not recommended for heavy commercial garage doors. Also, belt drive openers tend to be more expensive.

Chain Drive Openers

These are considerably louder. On the other hand, they can easily carry a heavy load. Chain-driven openers are perfect for commercial garage doors. They are more durable and will last longer than belt drive openers.
