The garage door sensor is a safety mechanism that prevents the garage door from hitting an object when closing.
You can adjust the sensitivity of the Liftmaster garage door opener in two ways.
- Open the door. Find the pressure switch bolt on the back of the opener. Rotate it clockwise. The door will go up a little and stop. Turning the bolt clockwise increases the pressure of the garage door opener. In this way, the sensitivity rises too.
- On the back of the garage door opener is a switch for adjusting Close-Force. Turn it clockwise to increase the sensitivity of the opener.
Be sure to cut the power before making these adjustments.
Remember that if you set the maximum sensitivity, the door will not return to its original position if there is an obstacle in its way.
